This triple scoring series challenges players to master diverse reads off screens, building dynamic footwork and shot-making versatility.
Drill 1 of 3
Split the screen aggressively → drive for a speed layup.
Drill 2 of 3
Come off screen → scan floor as big drops → pull up for shot.
Drill 3 of 3
Set screen → defender goes under → punch dribble stop behind screen → shoot.
The goal in this triple shooting series is to go three for three. The first shot is an aggressive switch, so we split the screen into a speed layup. The next shot is a pull-up where we scan the floor as the big is in drop coverage. The last shot is as we set up our screen and come off, our defender goes under, so we stop behind with a punch dribble and hide behind the screen for a shot.
Is this drill for you?
For advanced guards (Level 4) drilling three screen reads - split the switch, pull up on the drop, and stop behind when they go under.
The ladder: Split-screen speed layup first, then the drop-coverage pull-up, then the punch-dribble stop behind the screen. Go three-for-three.
Variations: Run all three reads from both wings.
In a game: Switch, drop, under - the three coverages every ball-screen defense shows, each with a scoring answer.
15 minutes; needs a screener or a chair and a hoop.
