Master ball handling rhythm and balance with this progressive drill, building from single dribbles to five, culminating in a powerful punch dribble.
The drill
Perform stationary dribble sequence in a low stance, progressing from punch to between-the-legs to cross. Increase reps on between-the-legs to cross after the punch dribble from two to three to four.
1 2 1 2 punch 1 2 3 punch 1 2 3 4 punch 1 2 3 4 5 punch
Is this drill for you?
For intermediate ballhandlers (Level 3) who can punch dribble and want to build combo rhythm from two dribbles up to five - no hoop, no partner, small space.
Variations: Progresses from two to five dribbles per rep.
In a game: Changing how many dribbles you take before the punch keeps defenders from reading your rhythm - this builds that control one layer at a time.
