This drill challenges ball-handlers to master the between-cross-punch-drag move, building quickness and control for shifty changes of direction.
The drill
Dribble between legs → cross-over → punch dribble → drag ball back to reset
between cross punch with a drag back. So, between, cross, punch, drag the ball back just to reset the move to the other hand. Cross punch, drag it back. Between, cross, punch, good. Like, one, two, three, uh, go.
Is this drill for you?
For novice ballhandlers (Level 2) learning to reset a move mid-combo - between, cross, punch, drag back - no hoop needed.
Variations: Reset to both hands.
In a game: The punch-drag reset is how you re-load a move when the first attack stalls - a real possession-saver.
Learn the drag-back reset slowly before adding speed.
