Master low dribble control and shiftiness by progressing from opposite-hand floor touches to kneeling, building balance and quickness.
The drill
Low cross-body dribble → opposite hand floor touch → progress to both hands touching → progress to kneeling while dribbling.
Cross. We're out here. Touch. Drag. Drag. Touch. Touch. Touch. Touch.
Is this drill for you?
For advanced ballhandlers (Level 4) who want next-level low control - cross-body dribbles with floor touches progressing to kneeling - no hoop needed.
The ladder: Opposite-hand floor touches first, then both hands touching, then kneeling while dribbling.
Variations: Both hands; three progression levels.
In a game: Getting lower than the defender's reach keeps the ball untouchable - this builds the low, wide control that lets you dribble through traps.
Hard on the legs and lower back; kneeling progression needs a forgiving floor.
