Master scoring versatility under pressure by hitting a layup, mid-range, and three-pointer first in this competitive 1v1 progression challenge.
The drill
Players compete 1v1 to be the first to make a layup → mid-range shot → 3-pointer WINS.
So, we're going to go first player to hit a layup, mid-range, and a three. You have to make all three levels. We'll, first one to make three, wins. Good D Nate. Good defense, good shot, Nardo. Bounce, bounce, bounce. Come on, Nate. Ah, good. Go up Logan, finish it.
Is this drill for you?
For intermediate players (Level 3) who can already finish, hit a mid-range, and shoot a three and want to test all three levels against live defense - partner and hoop required.
Variations: Scoring from three levels: layup, mid-range, three-pointer.
In a game: One-on-one possessions are the isolation situations that decide real games - this builds shot creation at all three levels with a defender actually playing you.
Needs a partner and a hoop; full-speed 1-on-1 wants real court space.
