Master the ability to square your feet and shoulders to the rim mid-air, enhancing your shot unpredictability from both stationary and dribble attacks.
Drill 1 of 2
Start in a squat with ball → jump, square feet and shoulders to rim in air → shoot.
Drill 2 of 2
Step into the shot with left right footing → jump, square feet and shoulders to rim in air → shoot.
The ability to square your feet and shoulders to the rim while in the air is something elite scorers have. Being able to do this allows you to be a threat more often and a lot less predictable.
Is this drill for you?
For intermediate shooters (Level 3) who drift - learning to square feet and shoulders to the rim mid-air, stationary then on the step-in.
The ladder: Stationary squat jump square-ups first, then the left-right step-in version.
Variations: Step in going either direction.
In a game: Squaring in the air makes you a threat even when the catch or the drive has you moving away from the rim.
